What is a literacy plan?
Definition
School-wide literacy plans are documents stating the how reading/literacy is to be promoted within the school. Including for example; goals, reading strategies, description of how pupils reading skills should be measured, and what measures to put in place for struggling readers.
What should be in a literacy plan?
The Council of Europe's Handbook for Curriculum Development and Teacher Training: The Language Dimension in All Subjects has some recommendations on what should be in a literacy plan.
